ADD A BELT!!
Play around with widths and colors, in either the same shade as your coat or a different hue.
For a monochromatic look, coordinate the belt to match the coat. A skinny belt looks well on petite frames.
Consider other elements on the coat. Different colored buttons? Try matching the belt to the buttons. Is the coat a masculine cut (i.e. double-breasted)? Try a buckle.
An extra-wide belt on a contrasting color makes the biggest statement. It's perfect on taller types with long torsos.
